I am a full-time freelance editor, a graduate of NYU with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English. I continued my professional studies at the NYU Center for Publishing and Graphic Design and have taught English literature and writing.
I edit fiction and nonfiction, magazine and newspaper articles, book proposals, educational and promotional materials, business documents, application essays, and website copy. I have experience with adult, children’s, and young adult literature; travel; memoir; self-help; and how-to books.
I am especially appreciated for respecting a writer’s individual style, keeping voice and tone intact; and for providing what one of my clients called “the whole package—editing, content suggestions, formatting ideas, education on styles, and more.”
I am currently editing book proposals and queries; nonfiction; literary fiction; genre fiction including crime, fantasy, and women’s literature; young adult literature; memoir; and short stories.
EXPERIENCE SHOWS
I have mutually rewarding working relationships with all of my clients. I love what I do and share my passion for editing with the authors I work with who, in turn, find the editing process exciting and valuable.
My clients appreciate my communication, editing, proofreading, and writing skills; my work ethic; and my attention to detail. I am available to answer questions and offer suggestions in a timely manner and enjoy guiding writers from an initial concept to a polished manuscript.
My teaching background and editing experience enable me to successfully mentor new authors and help them achieve their writing and publishing goals.
